Configuration File Edit Password Edit My User Preferences form

The Edit My User Preferences form enables you to reset your password. This option is for users with the User Preferences Restricted View privilege (on page 1), which disables the User Preferences form.

In N4, user passwords are case-sensitive. For example, if you enter the password as Welcome, it is not the same as welcome, WelCome, or welCome.

The new password must fulfill all the characteristics specified by your system administrator. A system administrator can control the various characteristics of user passwords, such as the minimum length, number of special characters required, or number of numeric characters required by configuring the Authentication settings in the Settings view (on page 1).

To change your password:

  1. In the Current Password field, enter your current password.

  1. In the New Password field, enter the new password for your account.

The new password must satisfy the conditions listed in the form, such as the minimum number of characters and the type of characters.

  1. In the second field, retype the new password to confirm the password change.

  2. Click Save.

When you log in to N4 the next time, use the new password.

If you use N4 and N4 Billing together and you change the password for the user account used to communicate with N4 Billing (specified in the CGOWS002 (N4_WS_USERID) setting in N4 Billing), you must also change the password specified in the CGOWS003 (N4_WS_PASSWORD) (on page 1) setting in N4 Billing to match the new password. The CGOWS003 setting specifies the password used when calling the N4 Web Service.
